Meet Our Physician

Dr. Unkefer grew up in Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit in 2004. He completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis in 2007, and has been a full time Emergency Room physician in trauma centers in New Mexico and the Salt Lake Valley ever since. He has been giving ketamine to sedate patients for various procedures in the ER for his entire career. He estimates that he has probably given ketamine around a thousand times, and has seen and managed every possible complication.

He has three boys between 10 and 15 years old, and enjoys growing super-hot chile peppers like Carolina Reapers. He is passionate about the mental health benefits that ketamine is demonstrating and looks forward to starting this new chapter in his career.
